But back to me. Currently, I am a PhD candidate attending the University of Stirling in Stirling, Scotland. Although my name looks amazingly Scottish and unpronounceable, I'm really a home-grown, true-blue American from Atlanta, Georgia. My husband, Cat, and I moved to Stirling from Atlanta in 1999 to pursue our degrees in Religious Studies. My dissertation work is on Gender and Celtic Paganism in the U.S. and Scotland. It's been a tough couple of years, but this year (2001-02) is our last. However, living in Scotland has been an awesome experience. There are so many things I've encountered and learned over here that I never would have back in Atlanta. I also think you never really understand your own culture until you live in another and see how they look at *you*. It's given me many a story to tell, a few of which you can find on this site. Some things remain the same, though. I love my family and my friends. I love the country I was born in and the country I've adopted. I love my pets upon whom I lavish all of my maternal longings. I love reading, needlework, sewing, and kicking back with friends. I don't want to save the world, but I want to make my little part of it a better place. So here are some of the things that interest me. Below you can find links to some of my interests and passions. There are also links to memorial pages for my grandmother, father, and uncle who have passed on from this life to another. Lillian Taylor, beloved grandmother |
