Brighid's Hearth
Beltaine 2000 was a very Scottish day - windy and rainy. We awoke early and went to the train station to pick up our friends Catherine and her then-boyfriend James who had travelled in from Falkirk. Catherine brought Aislinn a bouquet of flowers, which was good since Aislinn had not even thought of doing that. We drove out to Arbroath and Seaton Cliffs where we planned to do the handfasting.

We hiked to the arch carved by the sea in the soft red sandstone. We passed several inlets with blow-holes and caves. The beaches are of stone, smooth and rounded from the pounding of the cold sea.

Standing there in a chapel made by the sea, we spoke our vows to one another. Afterwards, we shared our meal with Catherine and James before leaving again. It was a beautiful day.
